I must say without any doubt that Korg has understood how the trend is moving among producers, as well as the main users of synths: towards the "analog sound", and the reduction of costs and spaces, having the possibility of having more instruments analog, each with its own characteristic timbre.

It has been rumored that by 2014 they will release Nothing a little less than ... the ARP Odyssey, with the supervision in the role of Chief Adviser "David Friend", will reproduce in detail the "old analog monster" used for the recordings and live performances by thousands of musicians from 1978 to the present day.
1978 was the date in which "David Friend" brilliant and promising engineer together with "Alan Robert Pearlman" designed the original ARP which remained on the market until 1981.
The Odyssey is a great sounding bass liner, great for leads with a "honeyy" filter, but also for string, brass and special effects,
in general a very complete synth;
The ARP has an internal interconnection structure worthy of a modular synth, which therefore gives the possibility of various different and distinctive timbres;
Monophonic - duophonic, has 2 VCOs with FM, ring modulator and synch, white and pink noise, ADSR envelope generator, LFO, sample and hold, high pass filter and low pass filter with two or four poles according to the model.
This structure thanks to its sound "paste" makes the ARP really one of the first mono synths in the ranking, not surprisingly together with the legendary "minimaog model d", from which it was distinguished above all by the presence of the high pass filter, all the stages of groups and artists of the caliber of Abba, Elton Jhon, George duke, chik korea, REM, Herbie Hancock and many others.
After the success of the MS-20 mini and the Volcas that have depopulated and given satisfaction to many, despite the long waits, from Korg and our (friend) “David Friend” we can only expect a great product.
