During the afternoon of Saturday 21 January, thanks to a happy intuition of Prof. Alfredo Capozzi who also took care of the didactic aspect, the PlayMusic of Cava de 'Tirreni together with Age of Audio offered to enthusiasts, connoisseurs and students of Technologies Music them a first appointment of seminars dedicated to this subject.

The focus of the meeting was the brand Steinberg, with workshops aimed at its flagship software updated to the latest version, but there were also important comparisons regarding the management of Converters and preamps of the most modern sound cards (seminar edited by Prof. Capozzi himself. ed) and a seminar dedicated to the management of MAX/MSP means tablets Android  by the class of Electronic music of the Conservatory of Salerno (speakers Antonio Russo and Alberto Giordano led by M ° Silvia Lanzalone head of the Department. ed)
From the point of view of the didactic proposal we can affirm that Innovation, precision and simplicity are the keywords for optimally defining what Steinberg has decided to propose at this first appointment.
At the Youth Forum of Cava dei Tirreni, Franco Fraccastoro, Product Specialist and Education Development of Steinberg, in practice the main Italian manager of the company, presented the new versions of wavelab, Cubase Pro 9 and the new big hit for musical notation, Doric.

Thanks also to a continuous exchange with the public, it can be said that the entire software park has been considerably simplified and made available to everyone: the new version of Cubase, in addition to new features such as the mixer and a particularly effective equalizer, it has been made graphically more manageable and customizable for the user side, making it an even more performing DAW than previous versions. Not least the new Sampler Tracks with which new horizons have been defined for the manipulation, even via keyboard, of the samples and of the audio tracks themselves.

The highlight, however, which held the spotlight on the audience was something else: the new software of musical notation Doric it is to be considered the first release of an application of unimaginable power and far ahead of many competitors.

Another point in favor for Dorico is the sound library, you can use the sounds of third-party libraries (or even the internal one which is in any case of excellent quality) and for every single desired part of the score make it play to a specific Vst or library: you couldn't ask for better.

The whole sheet is then editable on a textual level and allows you to write annotations without the slightest problem and with a simplicity bordering on disarming, useful for teachers who have to mark notes or examples of some kind, all using the new font called "Bravura Which turns out to be simple and clean to see.

Very interesting the innovations introduced with the new version of Wavelab pro 9 which include a better interaction with Cubase and New, greater flexibility of the technique Mid Side in mastering, professional plugin suite, the convenient management of even the largest projects, the ability to work with the stems of Native instruments and many other very interesting features that were widely presented during the seminar together with other functions already present in previous versions.

Given the public response and the almost perfect organization of this first appointment (we suffered a little from the cold due to lack of heating. Ed), we can only be curious to see what the Play Music, and in particular the Prof. Capozzi, will reserve us for the 2nd appointment Free  with  ROLAND Professional A / V which will be held next Saturday 25 February.
