Universal Audio is preparing to launch a new series of audio interfaces, renamed Volt. With this new production, the American company definitely raises the bar as regards the entry level range of the sector dedicated to musicians and producers.
With these new tabs, you can safely interact via Mac, Pc, iPad e iPhone and with the software bundle present, we are talking about a totally ready-to-go product, to be able to start your own music production. We are talking about 5 new models, renamed respectively Volt 1, 2, 176, 276 e 476. The first thing we notice is the absence of the Internal DSP for the management of proprietary plug-ins, permanent presence of all Universal Audio brand products.
Series Volts 1-2
The Universal Audio series Volts 1-2, with a more essential design, it is distinguished by the presence of 1 o 2 inputs microphones \ instruments both equipped with Vintage mode, based on the historical 610 series universal sound. We specify that it is not a simple software emulation, but a real one analog circuitry, which can be activated or not from the interface.
Volt 176-276 and 476
As for the upper band, 176, 276 and 476, with a very elegant design, we start from the basic version 1in\2out, following 2in\2out e 4in\4out. This second band is characterized not only by the presence of the Vintage mode, such as the Volt 1 \ 2 series, but also (as easily understood by the name) by the presence of a compressor directly derived from historical 1176. Also in this case, we are not talking about a software emulation, but about a real one analog reconstruction of the product.
Once the compressor is activated, it has 3 mode pre-set (Member, Guitar e Fast). On the 476 version, there is also a controller section that allows you to monitor the listening of the various inputs and outputs, even in mono. All new interfaces are equipped with a cable Usb-c\usb A, direct monitoring and conversion 24bit\192Khz.
I totally am bus powered, then powered via USB port (except when connected to iPad and Iphone, where they require the external power supply) and as anticipated, a software bundle with inside.

The launch prices range from this new series Universal Audio Volts depart from $139 of the Volt 1, up to $369 of the 476. We look forward to having them available in order to carry out a complete test in the field.
