The first day of the most important Italian festival of musical instruments ended with an important signal: music is still alive and flowing in the veins of Italians.

It does not matter if the economic crisis imposes a crackdown on extra expenses: in the halls you can breathe a cheerful air, you find yourself talking to people you have just met as if you had always been friends, exchanging opinions on the guitar or the set just tried. Even before the exhibition, it is the exhibitors who strike: open to the public and fully aware of the fact that for a musician rehearsals are a (long) necessary step, before reaching the desired (and considered) purchase. And here are the stands Aramini with glittering Hiwatt and G&L, ready to be played by visitors, and the large stand Storks ready to welcome any musician looking for an amp "outside the usual canons". And again Luca Villani, of I-Spira, ready to exhibit the novelties of its catalog and disseminate its knowledge, always with the simplicity and affability of someone who has now become a reference in the field of Artisan Pick-ups.

Marco Omar Viola, of the Lutherie Mov, tells me about his new creature, the Viola, an extraordinarily modern guitar, with characteristics that make it a very comfortable and chameleonic instrument, but which nevertheless has an absolutely unique and personal soul and character. Reference, equipped with a stage for demos to dispel the doubts of the most skeptical, has once again proved that a good cable is an essential link in the chain that makes up the Good Sound, and is able to best enhance the qualities of its own instrumentation, guaranteeing reliability and duration over time. And what about the giants of the ancient Via S. Sebastiano? loveri, Guitar Center e Acoustics On Line unleash an arsenal worthy of the best bargains, presenting many guitars and accessories at incredible prices, just to entice those who - in the festive atmosphere of the fair - have thought of giving themselves a nice gift, after all what other better opportunity than this? A special mention goes to the AMAZING (grant me the capital) collection of venturini: absolutely unique in variety, level of individual pieces and completeness. If in Salerno (the first SHG in the South) vintage wasn't a lot, here in Naples his collection literally thrilled everyone present: impossible not to be enchanted by those extraordinary six-stringed works of art, original from the first to the last screw (including cases, of course) and showing off the inimitable plus offered by the patina left on them by the slow passing of the years.

As regards the Rhythms sector, on the other hand, once again the congenital characteristics of the instrument made the tests quite difficult: the decibels were really many and grasping the different timbres of the numerous sets on display was a really difficult task, on the other hand various "drum battles" were unleashed even at outside the demo stages, hired by fierce drummers-visitors, who amused the audience a lot - me first, actually - but created some problems for the nearby exhibitors.

In short, a large exhibition full of music and instruments, but above all of musicians and enthusiasts, who are the real beating heart of these events.
