Polvo are born from the mind of the two guitarists and singers Ash Bowie and Dave Brylawski, establishing themselves as the greatest exponents of North Carolina college-rock.
After two discs "Cor Crane Secret"(Merge, 1992 - debut album) and"Today's Active Lifestyles"(Merge, 1993) and an EP"Celebrate The New Dark Age"(Merge, 1994), in 1996 they released their third album,"Exploded drawing”(Touch & Go), a monumental masterpiece that immediately entered the category of“ works ”in music.

Between atonality, crooked (but at the same time catchy) riffs of the guitars, the compositional art of Polvo in “Exploded Drawing” finds fulfillment, in an exact crasis of melody and sound.
The only splendid one would be enough "Fast Canoes"Opening to trace the guidelines of the beyond pop, matrices replicated in"In This Life", In the retro"Taste of your Mind"And defined in the lysergic ballad of"Light of the Moon", Immediately after the whim of"Passive attacks”Steal the show from your ear.
To these are added, in contrast, the metal regurgitation of "Crumbling Down"and "High Wire Moves ", the visionary paths of"Street Knowledge”And the instrumental sinks of“ Monoloth ”.
In closing, the 11:45 minutes of "When Will You Die for the Last Time in my Dreams"Manage to summarize it all, to bring it to its extreme exaltation.
