AgeofAudio collaborates with Tali Roth and Luciano Tortorelli at the first edition of the “GUITAR OASIS INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL” organized in Italy by Tali Roth, director and founder of the non-profit Guitar Oasis International of New York in collaboration with the Municipality of Torchiara.
The festival was born from an idea of Tali Roth, guitar teacher at Juilliard of New York and Luciano Tortorelli, guitar teacher at the “D. Cimarosa” Conservatory in Avellino, both already guests of the Narnia Music Festival in Umbria, where their close collaboration began. The festival will combine masterclass of guitar, as well as performances and masterclasses with lectures guitar days, violin, chamber music, writing film music.
In the heart of the Cilento, Baronial Palace will host guitarists, violinists and film music composers coming for the occasion from the most famous musical institution in the world, the Juilliard School of NYC, who will meet guitarists, violinists and composers of Italian film music. A unique event that will allow participants to expand their musical and creative experiences using internationally renowned artists:
Tali Roth, which, in addition to a career of concerts around the world, has created the soundtrack of the film by Woody Allen "You will meet a tall dark stranger".
Luciano Tortorelli, which in addition to having recorded for notable record companies has held concerts in Europe, South America, the United States, Russia and Africa, for musical institutions and prestigious halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York.
Paul Piomboni, violinist of Symphony Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome;
Sharon Farber, film and media composer of Hollywood, which has just received the award Grammy 2022.
Carlo Silotto prize Golden Globes 2007, who has written numerous soundtracks for directors such as Ricky Tognazzi, Maurice Nichetti, Jonathan Hensleigh and he was composer and arranger for various songwriters such as Modugno, De Gregori and Venditti
Federico Ferrandina, guitarist, composer, producer, who experiments intersections between acoustic and electronic music by creating soundtracks for film and television productions such as "Dallas Buyers Club" (winner of several Oscars) and the show "The Big Bang Theory".
To introduce the event, the actress and singer Valeria Altobelli, formerly Miss World, guest and correspondent of several television broadcasts for the RAI as "TOP - everything is trendy" and for CNN.
The village of Torchiara will be for a week a point of reference for the world of music and international cinema and its Baronial Palace "De Conciliis" will be transformed into a sort of Italian "Juilliard", where participants from various countries of the world will prepare new soundtracks and concert programs that will be publicly presented in the wonderful concert hall of the Palazzo. Moments of openness and meeting between instrumentalists and composers which also include the support of electronic music for a broader vision of the conception of sound and music. The Guitar Oasis International Music Festival is an innovative event especially for guitarists, who will be able to broaden their horizons by confronting difficult-to-access musical realities, such as music for films and media, which offer professional experiences of undoubted value. An event that has already aroused the interest of many students, teachers and professionals in the music sector, supported by Guitar Oasis International Foundation (a non-profit foundation in New York that promotes young talents), with the generous contribution of the Municipality of Torchiara.
The venue of the Festival
Venue of the festival All the activities will take place at theto the Concert Hall of the Palazzo dei Baroni de Conciliis (Palazzo Baronale), donated to the Municipality of Torchiara in 1980, which after a careful restoration has assigned it to social and cultural activities. The building, built halfway between Torchiara and the hamlet of Copersito, is characterized by two towers of different height and shape: one square and one circular, the latter once used as a prison.
It is accessed through an elegant arched portal that leads into the hall and courtyard. The large "Salone degli Specchi" on the first floor has excellent acoustics and important Classical and Jazz music festivals are held here with internationally renowned musicians. The rooms adjacent to the hall house the library and other cultural events. On the ground floor there are the old warehouses, transformed into spaces where to set up exhibitions and where to organize tastings of wines, oils and other typical products.
