The heart of the Leads A1 is a new analog modeling engine that takes Nord's virtual analog synthesis to a next step, with an algorithm that recreates the analog signal path with disturbing realism and immense sonic variety. With its 24-voice polyphony and its four simultaneous parts, the Lead A1 is a real synthesis operations center, and goes far beyond the known limits of the latest trend analogs.
The simple yet sophisticated front panel interface is the result of repeated comparisons with professional musicians who need to create the perfect sound as quickly as possible within the tight deadlines required by today's studio or live productions. The Lead A1 allows for easy patching thanks to a new and unique oscillator section, pre-programmed modulation matrix and simplified ADR envelopes. Diving into amazing patches is much faster than it normally would be with a synthesizer of the same power.
The new section Oscillator is able to generate 47 waveforms different, from classic analog to digital harmonic and inharmonic: you start with a single waveform, select a predefined configuration of Pitch, Detune, Shape, Sub Mixes, FM, AM o Noise and with the knob Adjust you adjust the configuration settings. The final result is very fast programming without the need to set up complex signal routing. A sound design suitable for both experienced and less experienced programmers.
Four separate arpeggiators with Up / Down and random modes in a range of 4 octaves all synchronizable to the master clock or external MIDI clock. The synth has four independent audio outputs with the ability to route each part to a different output. All the knobs on the synth panel transmit MIDI control data. A USB port is also available to allow data exchange with a computer.
To complete the equipment, the Nord Sound Manager software for OS X e Windows which allows easy organization, backup and transfer of programs.
The keyboard version has a keyboard 49 Fatar keys with super-fast response. The rack version offers 100% identical functionality apart from the keys, modulation wheel and pitch bend stick. Lead A1 e A1R they are tools designed to last a lifetime.

The Lead A1 features four separate Arpeggiators with Up/Down and Random modes and a 4-octave range. Any or all can be sync'd to the Lead A1's master clock. The Master Clock function of the Lead A1 allows the LFO, Arpeggiator and Delay to be synchronized, either internally or slaved to external MIDI clock. A Tap Tempo button allows you to easily tap to the tempo of a drummer or to playback tracks.
Having four identical, equally powerful synthesizers at once opens breathtaking layering possibilities. The Split-mode gives you two 2 slots on each side of the split. A flexible Hold functionality lets you latch and hold slots independently in the background while playing something else on top.
