After almost twenty years spent developing virtual emulations of glorious synths of the past, Arturia closes this 2018 with a synthesizer, always virtual, which collects the best of the know-how acquired and implemented in all these years.
Pigments, this is the name of the newborn VI, Arthur defines it as a "Polycrome Software Synthesizer" and, as a peculiarity, provides:
A double audio engine at a glance Virtual analog (with 3Osc / Voice, Variable Noise, Hard Sync, ...) and Wavetable (there is the possibility of morphing sound and importing samples, as well as having variable Unison, FM, Phase Modulation / Distortion, ...);
2 independent filters with, among other things, emulations of the SEM, Matrix12, MiniMoog. In Multimode mode it offers LPF, HPF, BPF and Notch, with slope in 12, 24, 36 dB / octave. There is no shortage of 6 and / or 64 dB / octave slope options.
3 ADSR mold envelopes, to which the curve control on Attack and Delay is added;
3 LFOs, with variable waveforms, with which it is also possible to obtain the classic Sine, Saw, Triangle, Quadra;
3 “Functions” Modules with which it is possible to draw Uni / Bipolar paths with an enormous number of points (I stopped at 60 due to space problems. Ed). Time, Level and Curve of each point is freely editable. The Gate to start reading can have different sources.
3 “Random” Modules to be associated as functionality to the traditional Sample & Hold, with the difference that it is possible to modify different parameters for each of them, such as to completely upset their functioning;
2 “Combined” Modules to be subjected to the control of the other modules or keyboard actions and to be redirected, then, to any synthesis parameter;
4 “Macro” potentiometers to which it is possible to associate the control of several parameters at the same time;
3 “FX” modules, each of which can manage up to 3 single effects, 2 of which to be used in Insert mode and 1 as Aux Send / Return;
Keyboard Modes: Mono, Legato and PolyMode with variable polyphony up to 32 entries;
Arp / Seq at 16 Steps, with Note control (it is possible to choose a reference scale among 19 available that include the traditional ones among Major, Minor, Blues, Pentatonic, ... Obviously this parameter is disabled with the arpeggiatole which offers 6 modes of trend), Octaves, Velocity, Trigger Probability, Gate Length, Slide;
Preset Browser: graphically borrowed from V Collection makes available hundreds of sounds that can be used in different EDM / Cinematic contexts;
