During the same day, Steinberg first announced the release of the expected Cubase upgrade, giving only some info through a series of artists present at the dedicated international session, then, a little surprisingly, she finally released it with several Announcements.
Among the various new features, some available only for the PRO version, certainly are to be included:
CHANGE 3: considerably enhanced with the possibility of gradually intervening on Pitch, Volume, Formants, In / out pitch bending, Vibrato. New for this type of modification, the possibility of being able to "anchor" and / or circumscribe the portion of the note on which to intervene;
AUDIO ALIGNMENT: different vocal takes, instruments, rhythms, etc. they can be aligned to an audio take taken as a reference;
NEW CHANNEL STREAP: Revisited also in the graphic aspect, it consists of six modules (EQ, COMP, NOISE GATE, DE-ESSER, SATURATION, LIMITER) freely configurable and programmable;
GROOVE AGENT 5 SE: Borrowed from the recent GA5, the integrated version in Cubase offers a wide range of ready-to-use rhythms and kits that benefit from an interchange of sounds and styles to and from the arranger;
SNAPSHOT on MIXER: now different mixer settings, including plug.ins, can be easily set and recalled in presets, called Snapshot;
MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Espession): the new MPE protocol is also integrated and fully exploitable, with several Synths and related presets already programmed to be controlled by the new masters that implement it;
VR production: those who deal with virtual reality and surround systems will find new tools and plug.ins developed specifically for these needs;
32/64 bit: like what is already implemented on various other DAWs, Cubase also offers the possibility to work on 64bit Floating and 32bit Floating / Integer Audio;
Other features, not to be considered as minor, concern:
* Simplified Side Chaining;
* Import / export of AAF format;
* Latency viewer that updates according to the plug.ins used;
* New Vintage reverbs for the REVerence convolution reverb;
* Improved Virtual Rack for managing plug.ins;
* Support for the ARA 2 system from Ceremony;
There are several ways to upgrade from previous versions. There is a "Grace Period Update", with free upgrade, for those who have purchased / upgraded to the version 9.5 from 15 October 2018 to today.
