The Communications Authority (AGCOM), to put it briefly, has acquired the competence for the resolution of cases of violations of copyright in the web environment. Attention, only on the web! In the real world, everything remains intact.
And we are not just talking about songs, but about any work of the intellect protected by our North Star, the RD 633/1941. Just to be clear, the first case dealt with by the Authority, since the entry into force of the new regulation on the subject, concerned the unauthorized use of photographs (and the case ended with a nice filing, as following the report the author of the crime has taken steps to remove the images not his own .... So it works!).
How does it work?
It is enough that the owner of the copyright (if you want, even directly, without having to ask your lawyer for help - alas) who believes he is the victim of a copyright infringement in a digital environment, connects to the "Complaints" section of the site www.ddaonline.it (which would stand for "Online Copyright") To report the abuse suffered, indicating in particular the URL containing the content copied, disseminated or otherwise used illegally.

Everything is so new that, to date, any comment on the effective functioning of this new system of competences for Agcom is useless. There was no shortage of harsh criticisms, regarding the guarantee of "contradiction" between the plagiarized subject and the plagiarist subject, as well as many doubts are arising on the actual ability of the Authority to manage what promises to be a considerable amount of reports. However, the advantages appear enormous: ease of use of the Ddaonline portal, the possibility of directly asserting one's reasons. All this in a "wild" environment, such as the internet, increasingly in need of rules to safeguard creativity and ingenuity.
