terraform is an interesting title produced by the Sample Library Company Audio Imperia, a production house that counts in its operational ranks a well-assorted group of composers, sound designers and developers.
The focus of the company is mainly oriented to the production of specific software for the composition of film trailers e scores adaptive in the sector of Games.
Terraform - Cinematic Motions consists of well 409 Loops for a total of more than 2 GB of precious materials. The sample pack also houses a ton of WAV samples high definition, with 48 KHz / 24 bit sample rate.
The minimal configuration of your DAW requires the full version of Contact 5.5.2.880 or higher.
KIND OF THE LIBRARY
Terraform is a Loops Sample Library developed on behalf of Imperial sound by the award-winning composer and sound designer Paul Ortiz.
All loops were forged by applying large doses of skillful sound design to electric basses, guitars and synths.
The founding idea of the title lies in the principle (echoed in the subtitle of the Library and which echoes distant reminiscences of pre-Socratic philosophical schools) according to which everything that is movement is also emotion. Motion is emotion.
terraform consists of a large and varied team of Tonal loops, ambient and percussive, designed to "float" in the rear of the soundtracks of trailers and films, to evoke suggestive and mysterious sound frescoes and to provide a solid foundation for the motifs and harmonic textures that can subsequently be overwritten.
The general mood that runs throughout the library is composed of futuristic sounds very close to the classic stylistic features of Dark Ambient, from the Trip Hop and Minimal and atmospheric music. Me too'Electronics it is very present, especially in its nuances more properly Glitch e Industrial.

TECHNICAL AND AESTHETIC ANALYSIS OF THE CONTENTS
Terraform already presents itself from the interface as a very solid tool and spartanly devoted to effectiveness.
This "philosophy" is also perfectly reflected in the sounds it is able to generate and in the controls made available to sculpt them to your liking.
On the screen Hand to rule it is the imposing central control, used to regulate the dose of distortions wanted in loop. The latter is graphically represented in its wave form in the compartment just below, through which it is possible to monitor the progress of the Loop with a quick glance.
At the bottom of this same screen, we have a equalizer very responsive and on the left and right sides respectively a low pass filter and a high pass filter, equipped with two dedicated controls.
The Terraform Main screen
On the sides of the distortion knob, we find the controls for Volume, Bread, Attack e Release.
Frankly, it would seem that already in this screen there are enough elements to be able to produce and customize your own sounds, but Audio Imperia has really gone big (after all, the price of the title is quite demanding), and has reserved a second screen for us , FX, completely dedicated to effects.
The FX screen is really rich and houses 4 compartments:
- Step Modulator. It allows you to assign different tonal modulations by programming the various Loops and also gives you the possibility to save your own settings. A real gem.
- Big Knob. A mammoth compressor equipped with the classic controls but also with a dedicated panel in which it is possible to assign the Threshold values from 0 to 100%. Phenomenal.
- Inserts. Rich department dedicated to effects. The Compressor, Distortion, Lo-Fi, Rotation, Chorus, Flanger and Phaser controls make a good presence. Long live the abundance.
- sends. Delay and convolution reverb that can be activated and managed in the send. Another point in favor.
There is little to say, the richness and quality of the technical tools made available in the two main Terraform screens cannot really leave you disappointed.
There really is everything it takes to get the sounds we're looking for.
Starting from the raw material, the Loops, which already reserve a recording quality and a dynamic, compositional and aesthetic range of the state of the art, it is possible, through the various compartments dedicated to the controls, to forge the sound to one's liking. the same way that Hephaestus forged metals in his volcanic forges.
Our mix bank, through Terraform, will in turn become an experimental laboratory of avant-garde sounds, which at the same time will be able to evoke arcane elements and epic scenarios. 110 and praise.
RECOMMENDED USES AND DESTINATIONS
On his website, Imperial sound boasts a subtitle: Epic Sounds for Epic Composers.
In my opinion the definition is perfect. It follows that I recommend this title (highly) to anyone who would like to be considered epic composers, because the sounds contained here truly are.
If you have to set music Movie trailers, scores adaptive for Games, science fiction film, thriller, horror, shorts experimental or you are struggling with various other types of sounds, you will find in Terraform a valid and extra long-lived ally.
PROJECTED IMPACT
I don't usually get out of balance that early in my reviews. In this case I think it seemed clear from the first lines that I really appreciated this title. In conclusion, I will be even more explicit. Buy Terraform. It has a fairly demanding price but, believe me, it is more than well spent money.
In the face of various advantages, both of a technical nature (control compartments, sound engine, graphic system) and of an aesthetic nature (wide range of musical genres, timbre and recording quality at the top, metrics that go beyond the usual 4/4), Terraform it does not present (at the risk of appearing biased) any defect. I repeat, perhaps only the price is not exactly moderate. But it is certainly honest when parameterized to the quality of the title.
