Debut disc of the young Neapolitan singer Fabiana Martone: Flowers is the tribute that the singer wanted to pay to those artists / songs that have represented a reference for her during the years of study and training.
In this cd we find reinterpreted in a strictly soul / jazz-acoustic key, real milestones of the musical period between 68 and 75. Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Lennon-MeCartney, Otis Redding, Hendricks are just some of the authors who are performed . In the 13 album titles we can also listen to three original songs, two of which composed by Martone herself. The disc is rigorously developed in a jazz key with a trio consisting of acoustic piano, double bass, drums. The group, expressly at the service of Fabiana Martone's voice, avoids any instrumental excess by wisely dosing the interventions. The CD is recorded in a very Hi-Fi way, respecting as much as possible the sounds of the acoustic instruments. Even mixing and mastering seem to be developed in this "nature" perspective and this perhaps penalizes a little the vocal rendering which is very natural and without particular embellishments but the latter wisely used, could have made the voice itself technically more airy and full-bodied. I listen.
The choice of an acoustic trio to support the voice makes the sound of the disc very homogeneous without special effects entrances and this will certainly represent a guarantee for lovers of the genre. We could define the atmosphere recreated listening as polite, or even when there are the most rhythmic and pressing passages, everything always happens with a lot of sensitivity it seems almost like not wanting to disturb the listener. This favors concentrated and relaxed listening but in some circumstances sacrifices greater involvement.

The disc opens with Flowers original piece written by Martone herself and which also gives the title to the CD. The song evokes Joni Mitchell and combines melody and rhythm with taste. The seventh song is very touching, Fire and rain. In this jazzy version (drums played with brushes, acoustic piano and double bass) and with a female voice, it takes on a new light and transmits great emotion to the listener. Very special Something, perhaps slightly slowed down compared to the original but this, together with a very large arrangement, allows Fabiana's voice to express itself with a very sweet interpretation.
More than the individual songs, it is the project of the disc as a whole, as a continuum, which evokes the sensations described so far. The voice is always pleasant and never takes exaggerated forcing, accompanied by good musicians, Piero DeAsmundis to the acoustic piano, Dario Franco on the double bass e Agostino Mennella to the battery

It is very nice to see that young talented artists, despite the current period certainly not favorable for the "sale of music", choose to try their hand at a genre and with standards that certainly do not wink at easy commercialization.

“Flowers”, Fabiana Martone's debut album, is the young Neapolitan singer's way of paying tribute to all those artists/songs that marked her education and training years.
This album strictly collects soul-jazz renditions of milestone songs, covering a musical production between the 1968 to 1975 years, such as Joni Mitchell's, James Taylor's, Lennon-McCartney's, Otis Redding's, Hendricks' among the others. Among the 13 tracks on the album there are 3 original songs (namely,” Flowers","Vishnu in Bombay"And"Try to Imagine"), of which two were composed by Fabiana herself. The acoustic piano-double bass-drums trio is a musical carpet which, avoiding any excess, is always built around Fabiana Martone's voice, and gives this album an overall jazz key, carefully balancing any instruments interventions. The cd has been recorded in a high-fidelity audio quality so to stick to the clarity of its stripped-down acoustic sounds. The mixing and mastering process seem to follow this "natural" technique too and, perhaps, it could have been conveyed in a more effective way in terms of vocal editing, making it a richer and thicker sound.
No special effects, no fussy arrangement and an amazing voice supported by a trio make this album really smooth and homogeneous: something that jazz insiders will consider a guarantee. The mood it creates is describable as gentle, each song flows delicately and, even in its up-tempo sections, it seems to caress your ear as if it wishes not to disturb the listeners, making them fell at ease and relaxed, although compromising in some cases a higher participation.

"Flowers"is the title track and the first song on the album, written by Fabiana herself. The song finely combines melody and rhythm and brings back to Joni Mitchell's production reference. The seventh song is a stirring and moving interpretation of "Fire and Rain”, a James Taylor's song delivered here in a jazzy adaptation (drums played with brushes, acoustic piano and string bass) with Fabiana's voice giving rise to a new life to the track.Something” is distinctively arranged with a wide and laid-back feel, perhaps slowed down a bit in comparison to the Beatles' original, but flowing as well into a delicate and soft touch and allowing Fabiana's voice to express all its sweetness.
Rather than single tracks put under one album, it's the project behind the latter that makes it an overall work; a labor of love, marked by feeling and inspiration, that reaches its peak with the velvety, soft voice of Fabiana, accompanied by good musicians such as Piero de Asmudis on the piano, Dario Franco on the double bass and Agostino Mennella on the drums.

It's really nice to see some young talented musicians choosing, regardless of the actual music sales, to challenge themselves with musical productions like standards, without giving a nod to commercial music.

Primul disc at the Neapolitan singers Fabiana Martone, flowers, This is a tribute to Dorit's dear friend, who is dedicated to the great artists, giving her melodious reprezentat in a reference point from a long-time student.
On this CD there are reinterpretations, in a soul/jazz-acoustic style, with songs from the musical period 1968 – 1975. Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Lennon-MeCartney, Otis Redding, Hendricks are among the reinterpreted authors. The print of 13 titles in the album is included in the three original pieces, where within the album they are composed in light of Martone's composition. Discuss this idea for jazz rhythms from where you can find a trio made up of piano, double bass and drums. This trio, according to the rumors, Fabianei Martone, avoided the sound of instrumental performances and chose to intervene. The CD is recorded in a Hi-Fi accentuated mode, with respect to the possible sound of the acoustic instrument. Afterwards, the mixing and mastering process always takes place in optical “nature” mode. In the case of acea, this penalty may be voiced, as a result, and adevărat, for natural reasons and will be subject to artificial fines. Since these artifices were made in a subtle way, you could hear loud voices that never prevented you from seeing the technique. There is an acoustic trio that sounds like a voice with the same sound that is never homogenous, so that you can intervene with a special effect, so you can always listen to a genuine reprezintp which is guaranteed or guaranteed. The atmosphere has been re-created by finding “education” clearly and at this point the pace is never rhythmic, since all of this is sensitive to what you hear. Here are some ideas to help you create a focused, relaxing session where you can listen to what you're listening to, make a sacrifice, focus on your surroundings, or make more sense to whoever you're listening to.

Prima melodie a discului este flowers, The original song written by Fabiana Martone, featured in the album title. This song is reminiscent of Joni Mitchell and combines my best melody and rhythm. Feeling emotional about this beautiful woman's pies, Fire and rain. In a jazzy version (baby drums with brushes, acoustic piano with double bass), the female voice appears in the light and conveys deep emotion. Deosebită este și Something, take a slow look in comparison with the original variant, giving technical această and amplified arrangement allowing Fabianei voices to be interpreted as delicate and warm. Never again did I say so in part this clear project joins the discussion he evoked without panache. Voice, here is what you need to know: Piero DeAsmundis - acoustic piano, Dario Franco – contrabas și Agostino Mennella - battery.

In this current period it is unfavorable to “want music”, and many of the many talented artists who find themselves in a category whose standards are often classified in the “commercial equipment” category.
