U.F.X. – Make Me Love Again

Unisonofx represents a solidified project well-known in the house music scene for more than 10 years and with almost 20 productions and collaborations with several labels.
Unisonofx is actually an Electronic Music project rather than an actual band. The project was founded during the summer of 2000 by Alessandro Salma (Producer, dj, arranger and programmer) and Salvatore Aversano (multi-strumentalist and sound engineer). Since the beginning, their intention was to blend different musical experiences in order to create a "fusion" sound. The members of the band belong to different music contexts themselves.
At the end of 2002 the dj Carmine Arena joins the band and gives, with his arrangements, a disco-house vibe to the project. According to the style of each track, various music artists collaborated with the trio, developing many individual music
projects.
One main common factor that links one house song to the other is the fusion of electronic influences developed by real instruments that give that particular original sound which is different from the usual dj- oriented house music.
The record Make me love again is in vinyl, as most of traditional house records can be found. It is basically an open collaboration between Unisonofx, Mr. Few (music arranger) and Rose Marriot, the vocalist. The project was released under U.F.X.
The vinyl includes 4 tracks which represent different versions of one same idea.
Make Me Love Again Original- 5mins and 27secs track which sounds like a typical standard song, in which the melody is completely developed with Rose Marriot’s vocal support.
Even only from the beginning, the track sounds pretty much uptempo and the rhythm is supported by nice arrangements. The main sounds are characterized by a rhythmic guitar which might surely be a Fender Stratocaster, the electric bass which might be a jazz Fender and the Rhodes Piano with a synthetic structure and all these instruments accompany the melody with standard styles. The fusion of the 3 main sounds with synth, effects and loop gives a great structure to the arrangements of the song.
The track resembles 80s dance music with fusion vibes, given by the Fender Piano for example.

Make Me Love Again Classic- 6 mins and 20 secs track which is developed by classic house sounds and arrangements.
We can find frequency filters and the electric piano chords have a fundamental role in the harmonic-rhythmic support.
The sounds have an essential and cozy atmosphere and both vocals and music have equal room in the whole song accompanied by a short but intense melody with the electric piano followed by a cool keyboard riff.
Make Me Love Again Club Mix- 6 mins track which perfectly represents the title, meaning that it is a club song with a strong but dry kick and the harmonic-rhythmic piano is replaced by the filtered keys and guitars. The bass is also edited and has a stylish loop. It is certainly for clubs. The instruments play a “team work” rather than having their own individual space.
Make Me Love Again Club Instrumental- 6 mins track. It represents the instrumental version of the club one.
The recording itself sounds purposely “retro’” characterized by mostly analogical vibes. The effects sound a little too saturated but, along with the old vinyl support, actually give more “warmth” to the song. Well-structured arrangements, well-balanced sounds. Great vocal recordings in all the versions since the voice sounds pleasant and balanced in the whole mix.
